Finally, the South Carolina presidential primary is over and the predicted winner, Donald Trump is victorious. A number of my closest friends and Republicans brothers are supporting Ted Cruz for President. I find it difficult given he has only been a U.S. Senator for one term. His national profile is one that has rubbed a number of people in the wrong way. I am part of that group, having met him briefly, I thought he was a nice guy, but public, employment and private personas are quite different.
Remember, I tweeted and my Facebook Page that Donald Trump was the real deal, after witnessing Democrats at a Chicago Maggiano's cheer for his proposals. My thoughts were and are that the guy is saying what I have stated about illegal immigration, trade agreements, the coziness of government regulators with the regulated in all industries and foreign and domestic policies over the last 40 years, which have been detrimental to the middle and poverty class Americans and families. Let’s not throw in jobs discriminating against Americans that are not bilingual and it is an internal quagmire for Americans to obtain employment. It is interesting that Jeb Bush dropped out after a poor showing in S.C. He had brought in ’43 and Mama Bush, who are great people and much loved, but they are not running for POTUS. Jeb shot himself in the foot with his comments about illegals “coming here out of love”. Americans want the country back and do not want people here that make us a weaker people.
Americans whether they adhere to it or not believe intrinsically the are greatness is rooted in four things: one language - English, one currency – the dollar, one set of laws – the constitution and one People- Americans. So Cruz and Rubio are asking Republicans to throw their support to them. Well, there are a number of things that get in the way of doing that wholeheartedly. The first, is neither one of them has been in the executive branch of government, both lack executive branch experience, and while they may have been involved in government in more substantive elected offices than Obama, but that is not meaningful.
We have seen firsthand what an agenda driven, immature, narcissistic, small minded, immoral POTUS can do in two terms, with a phone and a pen. The curse on both of these guys is that they are junior U.S. Senators, with barely one term in office, bored and inexperienced and think the celebrity of their unspoken ethnicity will intrigue the public.
The mystical Latino POTUS is unspoken in the race. But, you better believe it is being spoken about privately. The vibe I am getting is it wouldn’t matter except for the fact they both supported illegal immigration and immigration reform instead of enforcing the laws of the land. That puts them in the same boat as Louis Gutierrez and his traitorous rants and legalizations attempts.
So, it looks like Carson and Kasich are not serious competitors and Trump will be heading into Super Tuesday with a big S on his chest.
Only Hillary if she is not indicted stands in the way to The Donald being ’45.
